If You Choose Her

in poetry •  7 years ago

If you choose her
After all the nights I've stayed up for you
I'll cry a lot under the blankets
And I'll feel cheated, if I'm honest
But everything I said will still be true.

If you choose her
After all the times your soul touched mine
I think I'll be angry, to be fair
Probably scream into thin air
But I will still love you for all time.

If you choose her
After I've gone and told you how I feel
I think I'll feel distrustful
Maybe give up being hopeful
But never give up on you for real.

If you choose her
After every little thing she's done to you
After all the little damages
And all the big ones too
And all the ways her love was so untrue
If you choose her
After everything I've said and done
And everything I've hoped
After everything we had begun
And everything I've done to show you love
I'll forgive you.

But please don't choose her.
