Lucky

in poetry •  7 years ago

Life is the unfolding of layers
The mysteries we are to ourselves
We are so lucky to die
It would be painful to live forever
We die to be reborn again, again

Back into our mother, the sun
She shines bright for us
Blinding us to help see again, again

Flowers bloom then die
Leaves grow green then explode
Before ejecting

Launching into oblivion
Their attachments released
They float in the wind
Catching in webs
swirling down the golden sidewalks

I liked the conceptual style of the start and the way it framed the imagery that followed. To go full on cliche, it felt like poetry in motion, and it was a great effect on the poem. Nice work.
