Thought I’d share a smorgasbord of oil pastel images that came out last night while listening to a friend play music.

& this poem I wrote a few months ago. 1st and Pennsylvania houses my favorite lamppost in the world. It looks like it would be an entrance to Narnia.

“This is All We Have”

I hope I'm not just doing this so you smile at me
But it's such a nice reward
For exposing myself
To you, to them, to myself

Please use everything I have
I don't know what I'm doing
Just need to barf it out there
Purge the loneliness, fear, old hurt from my mechanism

It's been overheating for years
After grinding and overexerting
Tired and alive, I can finally see the point
That there's no point, no goal
Because like it or not, agree or not
This is all we have

Fuck the surface dwellers
There is no future there
We're all just trying to go home
But we don't know where it is

We try and find it
Searching, looking
But when there's enough quiet
Home emerges
Home is where the heart is
Is a more true statement than I was lead to believe

I used to think I needed rescuing
To escape from this world
Taken to elsewhere
Where you sit at the brim of the earth and watch eclipses
Perching atop the lamppost at 1st and Penn
