To Rise - My Poetry and My Image

To Rise

we walk onwards,
over obstacles that block our view
through dark clouds that hang heavy
and moisten our faces as we break through.

Inside,
our doubt tries to pull us off course
tugging so strongly,
surely now we begin to reinforce, but wait?
shall we become blinded by fear
left to cling to the memories
of those we hold so dear.

Deep
we travel deeper on towards the core,
our outer shells,
lay scattered upon this very shore,
emotions carried and thrown amongst the waves
of all these ideas, that caused us to dig our own graves!

And all at once we are upon it,
this light that shines so bright from within,
enveloped by the darkness so that now we can begin
to walk with our eyes open
to see all that lies ahead
the wisdom we embody, can now, finally
over take our dread.

We
walk
onwards!

We walk taller than before,
after this,
our journey inwards to reconnect with our core!
