Yes I live among the
Faithless
So I have to hear the
Overworking temple bell
So many hands shaken by
Failure to acquire things
Have played it and bowed
To what
They do not believe
Is
Before I close my eyes and
allow my head to turn liquid
on my pillow
I'll tell him,
God, count of the bell
for the day
I'll stay, he'd say,
though it's been years,
Tomorrow help me take down the bell
Though he will not
I still hear the echos of hymns when I pass my old church. This was well written!
