The following poem reflects the sentiments of a young woman who has inherited royalty and all the gains and pains that come with it. The picture in frame was captured by me on my trip to Vadodara which is located in Gujarat, India. It is the Laxmi Villas Palace which is still used as a residence by the royal gaikwad family and parts of which are open for public sight seeing. I dont have a name to the poetry yet. If you could possibly come up with a title in the comments section below. I would put it up with due credits to the person who recommends it. =)
She waited there to be rescued,
with a baited heart right in her throat.
She thought she'd be happy beyond the fortress.
The dress and emeralds were too heavy for her aspirations.
Her dreams were clinched and clipped like that of the bird.
While the cage was only a myriad monument,
aspired by those who weren't its inhabitants.
Only she knew how royalty was a curse and if only were she to be unknown.
P.S.
We always end up looking at the brighter side of the pastures and take things that we have for granted. Not all that we aspire commands a price, and not all that is free can be bought by riches.
Its a deep thought which i got when i visited the place. How would it be to be in their shoes? Will i be able to enjoy and live the simple things that i do today?
