A little girl is seen observing a caterpillar,
She ask the caterpillar 'When will you become a butterfly?'
The caterpillar did not answer as it cannot speak,
It only eats and eats, all the leaves it could,
The little girl did not mind, and just keep staring,
'Eat some more and become a beautiful butterfly soon.'
After saying so, she left and went home,

A week later she went their again,
But the caterpillar is no longer there,
She looked around but seen nothing,
Disapppointed, she is about to leave,
But then, she saw a colorful butterfly,
It was beautiful, with color red, black and yellow,
'Is that you mister caterpillar?' she asked happily
Of course the butterfly did not answer her,
It circles around her a bit, then flies off and left,

'Goodbye mister butterfly!' The girl, gingerly said
The little girl went home with a bright smile on her face,
and spring on her every steps,

Narrative Poetry

Narrative poetry is a form of poetry that tells a story, often making the voices of a narrator and characters as well; the entire story is usually written in metered verse. Narrative poems do not need rhyme. The poems that make up this genre may be short or long, and the story it relates to may be complex. It is normally dramatic, with objectives, diverse and meter. Narrative poems include epics, ballads, idylls, and lays. - Wikipedia

Afterwords

After the serious and depressingly long poem/story I wrote these past few days. I decided to write a lighthearted one to ease my mood. Yeah, I found out that I prefer happy endings, so I will be writting less serious ones.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This is my first time hearing of narrative poetry as a genre. Though I was thinking of telling an epic with a poem recently.
