The Blind Girl

Darkness is all she could see
Whether opened or not
The eyes can see no light
Since birth she saw no colors
Yet she had not lost her ardours
Even if it is her world
The darkness failed to wipe that smile

Despite what she lacks
Her eyes still glows with life
Hope never left her heart
She walks the world with delight
For she is alive
That is what matters
For she is loved
So what if she lacks sight?

She happily lived her life
She looks at the world in a positive light
Even if she can't see
She is extremely satisfied
Everything is a blessing,
Everything is joy
She might be a blind girl
Yet everyone saw her as a treasure

For she gave them hope
She is incomplete
But her life is complete
Never complaining
Never whining
Her world is dark
Yet all around her is bright
She is a blind girl
With a never fading light

Afterwords

 

Sometimes people with disabilities lives a more fulfilling and complete life than those who are not disabled. Maybe because they have accepted their fate and tries to live with what they have. Never complaining, instead making most of everything, finding value with the simplest of things. What they lack, they replaced it with vigor and hope. In a way they are more complete than those without any disabilities.

Perhaps, this is what real happiness looks like.
