Life After Death (Amateur Poetry)

As I flip the pages backward

I find it hard to believe

All those old chapters

All the plays we have lived

What is life if not a giver

And then again the greatest thief

If you cannot stop the water clock

It’s best to let it drip...

/

Does the sun set here?

Or do my eyes deceive?

For the far stars long dead,

I still feel no grief

Like faces on photographs

They live beyond their last breath

I guess there truly is

Life after death.
