Sartre's conception that shame and guilt is derived because others look upon our behaviors, words, and being seem to be contradictory to his assertion that man is condemned to be free. That is, man has no objective higher moral law to which he ought to submit. As such, logically man derives meaning by the will of his belief alone, since he is answerable to no one (existentialism).
All this lead back to Nietzsche's Will to Power, for only the weak-kneed fools, or the uentermenschen, would succumb to others' opinions of their lives, when there is neither God above nor the Devil below. Who dares, then, to cast judgment on anyone?
Existentialism is just an obverse of the same coin with Nihilism on the reverse.
