Blessings and curses

There were tears in her eyes
And her heart felt so heavy
Her flesh burning from her sins
The blood on her hand flowing steady
She has broken hearts in the past
Everyone has at least once before
But she's never committed murder
No, she's never shattered someone's core
To turn smiles into frowns
To watch as the lights leaves someones eyes
To hear the pain she's caused in their voice
To know that she's killing someone inside

It's not a blessing
But a curse
And one that never seems to flee
As it eats away at her soul
And tears her apart at the seams
"I forgive you" she said
"But not until you forgive yourself"
Then your forgiveness isn't valid
She thought
For she couldn't stand herself
