At Peace
I'm at one with the fact that I'm not a top priority
To anyone that could potentially love me
I understand that I'm just not everything someone needs
And I can finally make peace
I still hurt every evening when I sit and write
I still hurt every morning when I wake up with obscured sight
I still hurt every time I go out alone
I still hurt when I look down to see nothing displayed on my phone
There's nothing I can do to change that fact
And I've come to peace with that
There's no one that I know that's right for me
So I'm gonna sit back and let things happen naturally
I'll sit and do what I want
I'll improve myself until I become a demand
I'll watch the world roll around
And listen ever patiently for that specific sound

A beautiful short poem about a specific moment of existence..it is truly a reality of feelings in a moment of surrender in a fight you do not wish to be part of but still struggle to embrace..I love the transparency of feelings throughout the verses..you can feel the struggle the poet is still facing..a mix of life in love, pain in existence and optimism in failure..Bravo!!!
