A poetry I wrote for my childhood crush

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

I wrote this two years ago for my childhood crush, needless to say, she was not interested in me, so well. Nevertheless, I found my girlfriend because of this poetry! Funny indeed, she loved my poetry. God, I adore my girlfriend so much.

A lustrum and a half,
Since I last saw her face,
A tone of Cleopatra,
The finishing of Diana,
A girl from the heaven,
Forged in beauty,
Such is her artistry.

The allure she has is a powerful weapon ,
Bending time beyond its limits,
Turning minutes into days,
And hours into months,
When will it end?
The eternal wait,
A never ending suffering,
The perpetual wait.

“It’s worth it.” Says a voice,
Not my head,
But beneath my chest.

Does she know?
Or does she not?
That the love I hold,
Is far too much.

“Fate has something else for you.”
Says another voice,
A companion of mine he is.
But fighting with our fate,
Isn’t that life?

Destinies in ruins,
Future imperfect,
But a future with her,
Is worth it all.
