Poetry Corner: Of Rainbows And Kittens

The rain now clears, the sky turns blue,
And up above, as if on cue,
Brilliant colors appear in the sky,
A rainbow shows where the birds now fly.

Back down on the earth below,
Kittens watch this colourful glow.
A display they have never seen,
The blue, the purple, the yellow, the green.

They happily try to bat at the light,
Wishing they could run and take flight,
To catch that which is so far away,
The light which makes them pounce and play.

Soon the rainbow fades into the sky,
To the kittens it sparkles, as if to say bye.
The kittens then return to their home,
Their mother calling them back from their roam.
