Very moving poem. I like that your protagonist acknowledge the dark side of life and is able to pull themselves up from the depths in order to grow. Very inspiring!

I feel that the light and the dark must be integrated for a smile to really mean anything. If the tears do not wash out the ducts of authenticity then the smile never shines light!
