When You Told Me to Cool My Jets (Poetry)

The situation that led me to disarray,
Those decisions you made with disregard,
Of my opinions which seemed underestimated,
Yet you tell me to act accordingly to your desire.

I lost my cool, I am bewildered,
Should I take the left or the right,
Influencing me to make decision,
Mandating me like you own me.

The independence from your tight rules,
That's restraining me from delectation,
That unsavory character had me static,
In the same position I wished to break free.

I remember when you told me those words,
That I should just cool my jets, everything will be fine.
But I had enough, enough of those words.
Examine yourself, how you treated others,

The callous words expressed indirectly,
Mortified people who surrounded you,
Just a trace of humility from you,
Is what I yearned from you to manifest.
