Planets Mind

My beliefs are different to some that I've been told
I think the Universe for example is extremely old
I also think that nature is so large it can't be rare
to find a planet, upright bipeds, two eyes and some hair.

I've seen a ghost in action and I've seen a UFO
I've felt vague telepathic thoughts
and sometimes even know
what's going to happen next
a bit like de-ja-vu
I've dreamt of future happenings
that sometimes.. come true

I think our planet is a creature, living and with senses
We as humans are its brain, after jumping countless fences
Jung talked about a place, a repository of thoughts,
The planets inner world of dreams, a subconscious of sorts
all moments and all life that ever looked upon the shore
is captured in the planets mind and kept forever more

This place we know as heaven or nirvana in our dreams
inhabited with legendary figures in their reams
We only just begin to grasp the nature of our selves
to include beasts and plants and aliens and even elves

Wow - This is a great poem - Absolutely awesome - I think we have to think of the planet as a living, breathing creature, but surely some nature, even though nature couldn't be quantified, could be seen as rare.... There are some aspects of nature that only a lucky view will see......

I love the kind of writing that sparks thought..... And this poem certainly has me thinking xxx

@yummymummy you'll be pleased to know this poem won 1st prize in @droucil poetry challenge ;)

Awwwww yay thats great. I'm not surprised. It was fantastic xxx

James Lovelock - Gaia, inspiration.. smashing !

Thanks ! James Lovelock is to thank for the Gaia concept. as a child, it seemed so intuitive. a planet must have a precedent, a species an environment. We now know there are many planets out there. I'm sure life isn't as special as we think from our one example. I mean look at how life has spread across Earth into millions of forms, all from the same source. It's probably similar all over the Universe. NASA recently re-calibrated the amount of galaxies they think there are in the observable Universe. 200billion and each one has about 200billion stars.. each star is beginning to look like it has at least one planet.. our has 9 and hundreds of moons. do the math yummum ! We're a speck of dust in the corner ;0) a very special and lively speck of dust, which under the microscope would be seen teeming with life ! ( or a very powerful telescope from far far away)

a postage stamp portion of space ... filled with galaxies.. can you imagine what it would look like if you took this photo in all directions... GALACTIC ALPHABETTI SPAGHETTI SOUP

We are merely a speck of dust and yet we think we are the centre of the universe - We can't be the only species in the entire universe - I have yet to see a UFO, but have seen ghosts and am a firm believer that there is more to living than what you believe that you see with your own eyes and think with your own mind - James Lovelock sounds like someone I need to research - Can you recommend a good book? x

Gaia - A new look at Life on Earth The original 1979 edition is good place to start. we are infants in the cosmos, just learning to eat with a spork ! James on the other hand.. he was way ahead.. it's a beautifully simple and profound theory

Just brought that off amazon for £0.01 with £2.80 postage - It has a daisy on the front (my favourite flower) - Seems like I was destined to read that particular book - I'll let you know my thoughts - Thanks for the inspiration xxx

it's probably going to blow your mind (in a really good way).. I'm sure you'll really like it.

We live close to Jodrells Bank, which is a massive telescope - My sister is extremely scientific - We have been a few times now - The first time inspired me! x
