One small ripple
In a pond
Can spread
And linger long
A touch
Or tender word
May reach
A darkening night.
Dispell an anguish looming
Or shed a ray of light
An act
Of sudden kindness
A look of warmth,
A smile
Can melt a soul
in mourning
Relieve one burden
for a while.
How much will it cost
To care for just a bit
And cast away a demon
By vanquishing it's nest?
A ripple on the waters

I will take your dare! lol. I really enjoy your writing. The overall simplicity makes any unconventional phrases really hold a lot of impact, such as "And cast away a demon/By vanquishing its nest." The use of italics for some lines also was an interesting effect :)
