If you play Pokemon Go you should probably read this - Opt out of binding arbitration before it's too late !

in pokemongo •  8 years ago  (edited)

Apparently the Pokemon Go Terms of Service include include some type of forced arbitration that not only takes away our right to file a lawsuit against Niantic, but also prevents us from joining any sort of class action against the company. Luckily we can opt out within the first 30 days of signing up.

If you want to read the full article it's here.

TLDR - Pretty much anyone who signed up for Pokemon Go agreed that they won't be able to file a lawsuit or join a class action against Niantic unless they opt out within the first 30 days. So hypothetically if there was a data breach that leaked MILLIONS of our fellow Pokemon trainers information, we'd be screwed. So just incase anything happens in the future it'd probably be best to opt out.

Spread the word and hopefully protect others in case anything happens in the future.

To Opt Out :

Send an email ASAP (before the 30 days have passed) to [email protected] with “Arbitration Opt-out Notice” in the subject line and a clear declaration that you are opting out of the arbitration clause in the Pokémon Go terms of service.
