If you have played home poker games in the past and enjoyed the game and a little competition, you might want to consider joining the Steemit Poker League!
The shot below is from their webpage, luckysacks.com
They have a Steemit page named @SPL. It's free to join and they have freerolls every week!
Once on the site, you can view your statistics, payouts, their discord channel, tourney history and more. They even have teams that you can join or come up with a team of your own.
My tourney history......last week I got lucky and made it to 2nd place in their Sunday 50 SBD freeroll.
This is their main menu once you log in. It is similar to other on-line poker sites if you played in the past. (Like Party Poker, Pokerstars or Full Tilt Poker)
This is a screenshot from SPL of last weeks final table. I had AA which is the best pre flop hand that you can have. The gameplay is very fast and the connection is stable.
They poker tournaments are usually Texas Hold'em which is played with 9 player per table. If there is 81 entrants, there will be 9 tables of 9 players.
Everyone is dealt 2 'hole' card and you can either call the big blind, raise or fold. The big blind is the player that automatically puts in a required sum of money before the start of the hand.
Once the pre-flop bidding is complete, 3 cards are dealt face up which are community cards that everyone that is in the hand will be using plus their 2 hole cards. Then a round of betting.
After the flop betting, another card is dealt face up called the 'turn'. Then a round of betting.
The last card that is dealt face up is called the 'river' which totals 5 face up cards, plus your two hole cards. You play your best 5 cards of the 7.
As the tournament continues, the big blind will continue to increase squeezing players with minimal chips to go 'all in' or get 'blinded out'.
There is a LOT of strategy in tournament Texas Hold'em and sometimes you'll need to use a timely bluff.
The more players playing the better as you will see a lot of different types of play. Plus SPL can always use support for the freerolls that they are hosting.
Hope to see you on the tables!
hey! sweet!!!
