Every Tuesday we'll post advice on how to fight against the corrupt system, comment below with your advice and tips.
Our first tip to start the series is FOI's, a FOI is Freedom Of Information request which can be made to any public authorities under the The Freedom of Information Act 2000.
It can only be a generic question , so you have to be a bit creative in how you ask for information in order to get your answer you are looking for. Search the internet for FOI and your chosen public authority, find their FOI emailing address and simply ask your question for example "under the freedom of information act could you tell me......"
In the event of the ex Police Officer PC Philip Towers who assaulted me, i wanted to know if he had requested any CCTV from the area because he was the investigating officer who assaulted me but falsely arrested me for POA S5. I knew if there was any CCTV footage it would prove that he assaulted me. So i made a FOI request to City Watch CCTV and to the Ministry of Justice (for cameras on court building). I simply asked if any requests where made for an incident on the 28th of July 2016, it came back as only one request made which was my request for CCTV footage which i applied for in my SAR requests (more on SAR next week). This then proved that ex PC Philip Towers failed to request for CCTV footage despite being the investigating officer because he knew it would incriminate him. It also proved that he failed to comply with Operation Aland and XVIL TAG which state in the Mandatory Golden Hour Actions you must collect CCTV footage and tag it with XVIL TAG.
In another FOI request i asked if there was any protests reported on the 28th of July 2016 because ex PC Philip Towers claims in his statement that there was a protest and i was part of the protest. The FOI request to Merseyside Police came back and proved that Towers was a lair because there was no protest recorded on that day.
Hope this helps, remember to keep the FOI requests generic they wont give you any personal details on police officers. foi's.jpg
