BRUNSWICK, Ohio - A Cleveland mother took police on a chase with her son inside a car after allegedly stealing a lawn mower from an Aldi store in Brunswick on Monday night.

Around 7:45 p.m., police responded to the Brunswick Aldi, 4221 Center Road, for a report of a woman who stole groceries and a lawn mower.

When police located Stephanie Jo Stanley, 29, of Cleveland, she refused to stop for officers as she traveled north on I-71. Stanley had a warrant for theft out of the Seven Hills Police Department.

She continued driving before she crashed near the State Route 82 exit ramp in Strongsville.

When police arrested her, they discovered her 11-year-old son was in the car at the time of the chase. Her son was evaluated at the hospital and released to a relative.

Stanley was taken to Southwest General Hospital for treatment before being transported to Medina County Jail.
