Image: Polio iron lung ward for people who didn’t get the polio vaccine
Before polio vaccines, medical treatment was reactive. Vaccines today, like the polio vaccine, make sure polio doesn’t come back and that we don’t need iron lung machines anymore.
The polio vaccine came about in 1930 and many people were afraid to take it due to feared side effects. Many of those people you will now find in history books such as the image attached. They didn’t have to have iron lung machine, but their irrational fears drove them away from logic and reason and towards conspiracy and nonsense. Any if the people in the image chose not to get vaccinated (their choice), but heir irrational choice had consequences. Consequences that the fearmongering antivaxxers never held any liability nor accountability over.
Be proactive with modern technology, not a reactive person who tries to fix things after the fact. Thankfully most people are inoculated at birth and hence people don’t have to go through things like measles and polio anymore. We even have numerous vaccines to stop cancer today and the results are tremendous!
Yes, it is true that many people still exist who believe that vaccines are something that can kill them and at the very least it can make them ill.
I don't get why people believe in conspiracies so easily. Maybe they think like this about us who don't believe in conspiracies so easily.
For me, believing is the biggest problem, the moment you believe something, it stops you from knowing the ultimate truth that lies beyond ones perception until and unless they stop believing.
I like topics like these and would love to support, but the number of words are less than 300 so we can't. I hope you write more and use more words.
