Election results: Trump cherishes presidency

Trump sums up 247 electoral college votes and Clinton leads 215, according to CNN projections.

Donald Trump won Florida, the largest state in major dispute, with a narrow margin. Florida, with 29 votes from the polling place, is a key state and could determine the winner of the election.

Trump won in Ohio (18 electoral votes) and North Carolina (15 electoral votes), other states in dispute.

CNN projects that Republicans will retain control of the House of Representatives. They will have 120 representatives, while the Democrats will have 88.

The electorate becomes less white and more Latino
About 70% of voters on Tuesday are white, compared to 72% four years ago. Also black voters fell: from 13% to 12%.

Meanwhile, the Latino population rose from 10% to 11%, and Asian from 3% to 4%.

Voters liked their candidate
Throughout the campaign, many Americans said they would choose between the lesser of two evils. But when they left the polls, 42% of voters said they felt good in favor of their candidate.

Only 25% said their vote was based on rejection of other options. Another 31% said they liked their candidate, but they had reservations.

little enthusiasm
There is not much to choose from. This is how many voters feel about US presidential candidates. Only about 4 out of 10 voters said they would be excited or optimistic if Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump came to the White House, according to polls.

That contrasts with his vision of the current president. About 54% of voters who came to the polls Tuesday said they approve the work of Barack Obama as president.

And while Donald Trump has talked a lot about where the election is rigged, about 8 out of 10 voters said they somehow trust that election results will be counted accurately.

The moment of decision: several weeks ago
Voters said they cast their ballots a long time ago, according to voter polls.

About 62% of voters decided before September by whom they were going to vote. Another 26% decided in September or October.

But only 12% decided in the last week or the last few days. This suggests that recent FBI revelations reopening and then reopening their research related to Hillary Clinton's e-mails and Donald Trump's misconduct allegations did not make much of an impact on Americans when it came to voting.
