It's your Fault

Our political system in the United States is broken and it is your fault. Yes, this is a bold and even audacious statement, but it is a fact. We, as a collective of voters in the USA, do not ply the greatest gift our country has given us. According to the Pew Research Center, voter turn out for the 2012 presidential election for the United States was a dismal 53.6%. As citizens of the United States we should be ashamed and mortified that a higher percentage of registered voters do not value the precious right to vote and help elect the person(s) we want to represent us and be our voice. This lack of voting by our citizens is shameful, humiliating, disgraceful and frankly down right embarrassing. Those of us that do vote should be pressing our peers and acquaintances to vote in any and all elections they are able to vote in. You say you do not like any of the candidates so why vote. Well, here is an epiphany for some of you. Your vote is actually worth 2 votes. If you vote for someone, then they opposing party needs 2 votes to wrest your vote into the positive column. That is right. You, as a voter, have unparalleled power to help or hurt whomever you vote for. If you think that your single vote does not count for anything, then remember that you have an untapped power that was given to you as a citizen.

By not voting citizens are merely giving into "the man", the elite top 1% and those already in charge. Non voters are just sheep following and allowing themselves to be led. Therefore, they have ZERO right to complain about our current stagnant, broken and corrupt political system. Our political system is infected with cronyism, corruption (to a degree), stagnation, influenced by money, ineptitude and mired in bipartisanship strife. But guess what? WE have the power to change it. All we have to do is vote. Voting is the constituents megaphone and the volume control is directly related to YOUR vote. A lot of the problems in our political system can be changed but we have to turn up the volume. Simply electing a president will do little or nothing to further a cause you believe in. The system is already broken with and our top leader(s) now have little to no power to make relevant changes. The presidency has effectively become a token position in regards to making relevant and lasting change.

It is within our power as voters to make change. We alone have the ability to elect representatives that will make change and replace people who are ineffective in their duties as elected officials. We alone have the ability to hold our representatives accountable! By not voting all we do is perpetuate the ineffectiveness which our political system has fallen into. We, as citizens, are at fault for allowing for the current political situation to get where it is today. When we look in the mirror and ask why are things so screwed up, then that image you see is the reason why. We, as voters, need to influence the non voters to use their power and vote. Each and every person who votes is a Spartacus in their own right. Alone a voter can sow the seeds of the revolution of change which we desperately need. Our democratic system needs to be fixed and only we, as citizens, can do this.

If you vote, then congratulations and thank you. If you do not vote, then shame on you and shame on your peers or acquaintances for not pushing you to vote and exercising one of the best gifts this country has given its citizens. We are all superhero's with great power. We just need to recognize use the considerable power given to us as citizens. We need to stop being sheep, led around by the elites like so many farm animals. We need to VOTE and turn up the volume of our collective megaphone.

It's not our fault, the corporations who bribe our elected officials are the ones who get to vote. U.S. thinks they have a democracy, but it's just an oligarchy.

Getting money out of politics is the first step to creating a more just representation for the voters.

I will not legitimize a known slavery system by attempting to pick my leaders. If you can't see that all political systems will lead to tyranny, I'd suggest studying some history, anthropology, psychology, economics, and ethics before pretending that you know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Only subhuman slaves need leaders, borders, property, money, religion, and politics. Those that can ethically, sustainably, and directly meet their own needs haven't suffered so much from the devolution caused by civilization.

My vote is my lifestyle, which is designed to disempower ALL tyrants, either elected by idiots or appointed by bloodlines.

Democracy is the system we live in and to make changes one has to participate. To think things will not change by not participating , not believing in the system or living in a fantasy world is an illusion. There has never been a "perfect" society structure but to not work with what you have is ignorant and delusional. We have leaders in this country and to not vote to have someone represent you is merely perpetuating your own @apocaloptimiso slavery.

I live completely off grid, independent of slavery systems. I sometimes get online using a thrown away computer and a free wfi connection, in an effort to find tribe and wake people up, but I'm not dependent upon the internet for anything. I get up and go to bed when I want and do exactly what I want every day. I take full responsibility for providing for my own needs locally, directly, ethically, and sustainably. I'm 38 years old, have no debt, no responsibilities to anyone but me, and answer to no one but myself. If you think that is slavery, you are sadly mistaken.

Democracy is simply the dumbest by the mostest and anyone that know anything about it would never claim that it's the best system to do anything.

The hunter/gatherer people followed Nature's rules and were able to survive multiple mass extinction events and pockets of them are still alive today, happier and healthier than slaves of democracy, and existing sustainably in harmony with the ecosystems that create their meatbags.

This country has never had a true leader. Even the ones we think were great because the lies we were taught in school were actually shitty people, and it's people like yourself, those that believe that humans are inherently evil so other humans must be elected to rule, that empower the tyrants and thieves.

If you want to feel really stupid, look up some of the thoughts that the founding fathers of the US had about democracy. The US isn't even a democracy! lol

I could post these all night.

Not even worth the effort of a decent reply. To bad you can't see we are on the same page. Click your heels three times, pull back the curtain of Oz your mind lives in or stay in that white rabbit hole. Either way you are detached from reality. PEACE :D

If you believe that humanity will ever see peace and freedom under the rule of other men, we're not even in the same book, probably not even the same species.

I've detached myself on purpose from the reality of slavery that your kind is hell bent on propagating. If I attached to it, millions of people would die violently at my hands, defending the ecosystem that makes our 3d forms possible. There wouldn't be a safe city in the world. For my own sanity, I have to remain detached. I create my own reality and suggesting that you can too. If you had a decent argument, you'd present it. ;)
