The chief patriarch of Roman Catholics called on this call in a speech at a ceremony on Bangabhaban on the first day of Bangladesh tour.

But in the speech, the word "Rohingya" was avoided by Pope. The criticism of the Rohingyas not being pronounced on Myanmar visit before coming to Bangladesh is being criticized.

After reaching Dhaka from Myanmar at 3pm on Thursday, paying tribute to the National Memorial at Savar and visiting the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi, Pope went to Bangabhaban.

After a meeting with President Abdul Hamid there, he spoke in the presence of cabinet members, eminent personalities and diplomats. The English copy of his speech in Spanish was provided at the ceremony.

Pointing to the Rohingya crisis, Pope Francis said in his speech that the society of Bangladesh introduced liberal minds and outstanding unity through sheltering a large number of refugees from Rakhine and fulfilling their basic needs in the past few months.
