People are going to revolt if the lockdown continues

So the governor of Virginia, the state right next to mine announced today that the state is going to be in "lockdown" until June 10th - to be revised if things improve.

Governor Northam already isn't the most popular governor Virginia has ever had because of measures that he introduced that many people who think as I do see as a gross violation of the Constitution on our 2nd Amendment rights. These measures did not pass after intense backlash in the state and most of the state representatives, fearing for their re-election campaigns, decided to about-face on the issue and vote "no."

The people still remember that it was Northam that was championing the cause though and it looked as though he would face strong opposition during re-election. I suppose that all seems like a moot point now but he went on TV today to announce the longest-term "stay at home" order that the United States has right now.

People are only allowed to leave the house for food, medical attention, and to get exercise. All other reasons are invalid and while not yet a crime, you can bet your ass that this will be the next step.

Now I don't pretend to understand the Corona Virus, and even the champion keyboard warriors out there don't either because no one on the planet, even people a great deal smarter than we are, understand the virus 100%.

More and more people are starting to believe that the media is intentionally misleading us and something else might be going on and this is how conspiracy theories gain traction. I don't know if any of that is true but the fact of the matter is that people don't like to be controlled to the degree that something like this order from the government to not leave your house for 2 months entails.

People are going to start to go about their day-to-day lives, even if in the end the governments are correct and that doing so can mean your own demise. I honestly believe that it will come to that because what is the government going to do? Shoot anyone who doesn't comply? The population, especially in the United States, will shoot back.

I really don't want to see that happen but if something doesn't change soon things could start to get ugly. Not just in gun-heavy places like the United States but in poorer countries where the government doesn't have the money to help the people who they are telling to stay at home.

As I have mentioned before, this doesn't affect me a great deal because I worked hard most of my life to be able to afford a large plot of land in a rural area and enjoy spending time at home. I have tons of canned food and grow my own produce.

I truly feel bad for the people who chose to live in urban areas in a tiny and very expensive apartment that was close to "lots of fun stuff" that they are no longer allowed to visit. You see... being a redneck does have some benefits that a pandemic can expose.

I do think this is going to get much worse before it gets better and it isn't necessarily going to be the virus that makes that happen. The government needs to be very careful in the coming months and I think that for Governor Northam to come out and announce such a long lock-down, is dangerous and irresponsible.

i see it is already starting to happen in Italy. This was always going to be the case if you ask me. You been watching Sweden?

I started looking at it... I'm rooting for them but at the same time I think it would be better to watch Brazil. Sweden is a pretty rich country and could probably get away with just letting the virus run the course, but then again are we being told the truth about this virus anyway? geez, it just gets to be a bit crazy to even try to know where to look for real information, especially when it seems there are a lot of people out there that are attempting to put politics into this any way that they can.
