Thousands upon thousands of people defy government orders on Independence Day

...And I couldn't be more delighted. This sends a clear message to the the our masters that we have given them as much of our freedom as we intend to and as far as I know there were very few instances where people were actually arrested and charged for this "crime."

I think the favorite was the reports coming out of ultra-liberal California where the drones or helicopter footage showed thousands of households shooting off "illegal" fireworks and defying stay at home orders to celebrate one of the favorite public holidays of Americans. I love this display of these individuals because I think the sentiment of selective enforcement of covid-stuff is finally wearing thin on the population of the country.

When we see news stations try to tell us for a month that peaceful anti-lockdown demonstrations are going to kill millions and then listen to them tear the people apart on the news and try everything in their power to make these people look stupid and then a week later the media actually celebrates when people are taking to the street in massive groups definitely NOT social distancing and burning, rioting, and looting... well, the public doesn't really believe the BS anymore.

Here in North Carolina, which is considered a "swing state" because we are not ultra liberal or ultra conservative, the various cities cancelled most of their government funded fireworks displays but private individuals ignored the warnings and had their own in defiance of the law and the law-enforcement made almost no effort to stop the people from celebrating.

All around the US and the rest of the world data is starting to emerge that the stay at home and shelter in place crap has accomplished very little and the media has been intentionally padding the numbers any time a gathering is something that is an ideal they support and suppressing numbers anytime that it is something that they do support in a political sense (in regards to covid numbers) and the people don't buy it anymore.

The people aren't going to take this anymore and since what they are asking / demanding is unconstitutional anyway, the people are not afraid of the consequences. We are not going to abide anymore.

Roy Cooper should be very afraid. He is up for re-election in 2020 and things do not look good for him. There are very few individuals who agree with the way that he has handled the pandemic and when he suggests more lockdown restrictions there is a very small amount of the population that thinks this is a good idea. He is in trouble in November, and I will be one of the people that will save a few of my fireworks for when it is announced that he has lost and will be vacating his office.

Enough is enough: There is a growing populous that believes that the overall government handling of Covid has been entirely political and none of it was ever as dangerous as we were told. The few leaders, such as Cooper, who are still insisting that we keep on this path of unconstitutional control of the people are getting their walking papers in November - and maybe, just maybe, we will see some actual change... at least in NC if not the entire country.

if i was back there i would have been one of those people that was "breaking the law" by doing this. It's funny to me that the news reported some untraceable and unverifyable stat about 3000 fireworks related calls came in to 911. I doubt that is true and if it is it was likely just ultra whiny neighbors who want to control everyone else.

that's good to hear. Virtually everyone I know offline feels the same way but there are times that I wonder if i am a bit insulated, this is why the California fireworks were so reassuring to me. If there was one place I would have thought this wouldn't happen it would be on the West coast.

good for them. When the lockdowns extended beyond one month I started saying that people were not going to tolerate this in the long term and now it seems like the rest of the world is either already opened back up and dealing with the medical consequences and a few never closed down (Sweden) I think in the States we are going to see non-compliance increasing greatly in the coming months.

to be honest it actually made July 4th seem more authentic since we were defying an oppressive government regime on this day for the first time in my life. Just like the founders did!
