The “New Green Deal” championed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turned into a big green pile of DoDo today when it was downvoted on both sides of the isle by a margin of 58-0. It was laughable in the first place but to see it lose so badly was extremely funny to me, especially because it just shows what disarray the Democratic Party is currently in.
I don’t have any idea who this Young woman thinks she is but her plans to retrofit every building in America to produce zero emissions and upgrades to energy efficiency, elimation of airplanes, cow flatulent farms was laughed right off capital hill today. I sure hope to God this socialist maniac never makes it into the Oval Office.
I’m sorry AOC but, America loves beef and they should! You have no place in this world to tell people what they can and can not eat. We all know you believe the world will end in exactly 12 years and everyone will perish if we don’t follow your crazy plan but, thank you for showing us all (even your peers) what a crazy nut job you really are. We won’t forget.
I’ll have the T-Bone steak medium rare......and one one thing AOC....try about 15 shades lighter on the lipstick because it’s so distracting to even listen to you in the first place....even if you did have a good, sane idea. Epic Fail.

Oh, yes! This surely got its proverbial *ss kicking that it deserved.
I couldn't have said it better myself. There were other quips in between, but, that is the phrase that stuck with me.
And PS: Has anyone bothered pointing out that cows do not fart? Not since Superman died anyway... As far as I know, they belch up the methane that said cow produces.

I would say a vote of 58-0 is NOT a failing dis functional senate. Both sides were very united on this, just ACO and her insane ideas.

The 58-0 vote is nowhere close to united. Now house vote for the public release of Muller report 420-0 can be called united. Senate will probably disregard what the public wants and do their same old thing - Nothing.
Her ideas are not that crazy. Maybe bold and a bit extreme. She is challenging the status quo. It is a good thing. They don't have to accept everything she proposes. They can always come up with better ideas, sadly they have none.
Moreover, Green New Deal was a non-binding proposal. Doesn't mean everything proposed must be done. Just lays out a roadmap for action.
I don't agree with everything she says, but I sure am impressed that she has something to offer, she has principles, and fighting for common folk, while those senators who have been there for decades just keep racking up debt and don't produce anything.
You may not like her ideas. At least you know where she stands. There is no double standards, no hypocrisy with her.
I know socialism has become a dirty word. It is a product of the Cold War. Most people don't even realize that we already have socialism of some sort. Even capitalism operates under a social contract. In my opinion, it comes down to balancing. There is no excuse for a rich country not to be able to take care of its people.
You will probably say, people should take care of themselves. Sure. But the system is already rigged in many levels. What is wrong with creating an even plainfield?

There are lots of alternatives being worked. They just aren't being proposed by those with a socialist agenda or a method to raise taxes (Carbon Credits). The US output of CO2 has gone down dramatically over the last 6 or 7 years and will continue to go down.
The real answer is technology that takes in CO2 emissions and breaks it down into other compounds and chemicals such as Carbon and Oxigen. Put a fraction of the trillions into that research and see benefits acroos the entire planet as all will be onboard!

Eliminating or even modifying “factory farming” would skyrocket the price of beef to where only the elite could afford it. I have spent lots of time around farmers, been on 100’s of farms, ranches, and feed yards and I can tell you one thing these places are run like an airport. It is a scientific method they use and the grain is grown right there in the heartland to make it all work..... not to mention the massive aquifer of water it all sits over. Little will be changed to cow farting....bank on it.
