It is a pity that a country blessed with abundance of natural resources most especially crude oil is having issues with production and distribution of this product in her location.
Below is a link which shows the list of oil producing countries in the world with Nigeria taking the 13th position.
Link
And below is a screenshot I made
Here is another screenshot to show that nigeria is part of the countries leading with the number of oil reserves taking 11th position on the table

The country is richly blessed that she is one of the leading countries that export crude oil to other countries.

Then if the country is so rich that she is part of the countries producing oil, exporting oil and has a good oil reserve, then what can we say is the problem?,
Is it that the Government does not have the financial strength to produce for the masses?
Is it that the Government is producing but some individuals are making life miserable for others?
Is it that what we produce as a Nation is being saved for future use and those of us alive now can find our way?
Or can we just conclude that all her production is being shipped to other countries just to boost income from international trade?
The issue of fuel scarcity started since last year with the Federal Government denying that they are releasing fuel for wholesalers at the normal price. The Wholesalers who are selling to final consumers complained of an hike in the price of P. M. S. and apart from the increase in price, it will take a period of two (2) weeks for Wholesalers to get their fuel tanks filled with P. M. S. before they now bring it down to their fuel stations to sell to final consumers. Below is the picture of officers from the State Security Department trying to make sure a filling station is selling fuel to buyers.
When this sorrowful situation began last year, Nigerians were of the opinion that it happened cos a lot of people will want to consume more of this product as the year was running to an end cos
a lot of people will want to travel for the festive season
Will want to go on excursion
will want to use electricity throughout the day thus, burn fuel to be used in generators
That was the thought of everyone. I remembered how I had to treck a long distance just because I couldn't get a cab to convey me to my destination, so many businesses had to wrap up cos try depend on fuel to run their daily activities. Religious activities were affected too. We all consoled ourselves with the assurance that things will be better this year.
Should we say things are getting better, or should we say we are heading for the worst situation ever in the history of the Country?
A lot of filling stations are still locked up cos they don't have fuel to sell, the ones that are selling are overcrowded by consumers who are fighting for fuel at the gate of this filling stations.
I was so sad, disappointed and displeased seeing a man we all know to be gentle, quiet and easy going fight his fellow man over fuel. Let me explain another ordeal to you:
I went to IBEDC office (those in charge of electric power supply) in my area to recharge the prepaid meter we use in my house, to my surprise; I was told they won't be able to carryout this transaction because they don't have light and they were unable to get fuel to run their generator.
When will I now carry out this transaction, and if I don't do it, we won't be able to use electricity in my place except if I want to go and struggle for fuel wherever they might be selling it.
What a situation we have found ourselves, the masses are the ones suffering while the elite have means of getting whatever they want at anytime using the money they siphoned from us to enjoy their lives.
Most of us students did not know the implication of this fuel scarcity until this Monday we all resumed back to school from the Christmas break, we are now faced with difficulties in getting cabs to take us to school, government workers are getting late to their places of work, those that have cars have parked their cars when they couldn't get fuel for their cars.
Let me share with you pictures I took randomly on this fuel scarcity crisis
above is the picture of a snacks seller who used the opportunity to sell his products. He is a real entrepreneur.
long queue of vehicles waiting for their turn to get fuel
below is a picture I took of a filling station which was not selling fuel, but vehicle owners queued there with the hope that the filling station will sell anytime soon.
We now pay a very high price to board cabs to go anywhere we want to go. I don't blame the cab drivers though, I understand what they passed through to get fuel for their vehicles.
When will this situation come to an end?
Is it when we have spent all our income on transportation?
Is it when we begin to protest violently?
Is it when people start to burst pipelines?
is it when students stop going to school?
is it when workers abscond from duties?
*is it when all business activities come to a stop? *
This is the voice of a concerned Nigerian crying out to the Federal Government of Nigeria for immediate action, life is becoming miserable for we the low class, even the middle class are not exempted from this pang of agony. We beg you to take a quick and proper action on this.

The situation is pitiful for a country richly blessed with natural resources. And how will an electricity distribution not have electric power.

I had no idea this crisis was happening to the extent that it was. It seems like complete insanity - what do you think can be done today to resolve it?
