I almost bought a Huawei myself. Nice looking phone.

Over here in Australia, Huawei were blocked from tendering for the governments National Broadband Network (NBN) project. Although they offered to share the source code of their devices to prove that no backdoors were present, the government thought it was a far better idea to select vendors whose products were already proven (by the Snowden leaks) to have NSA backdoors built in.
