Trump and climate change

in politics •  8 years ago

This is a matter I feel strongly about, and I am shocked by Trump's blatant ignorance to, I think, what is the world's biggest issue. Climate change is a problem that affects us all, and will sentence us to our doom if not dealt with now.

so many dangerous greenhouse gases are pumped into our atmosphere

Personally, I find it crazy that Donald Trump finds it fitting to repeal the Climate Change act:

Once this act is put into place, all the restrictions previously posed on the gas and oil industry, and power plants, will be lifted, meaning they get to pump many more fumes into our already delicate atmosphere.

it can't be ignored, rising sea levels, and changes in the climate...

I do strongly hope that someone in Congress, or Donald himself, will get some sense knocked into them...

I have received emails from people who claim global warming exists and I am in denial. To start, all of the studies that claim there is global warming end with the 19th century. The sun has a documented 300-year cycle between maximum and minimum energy output. It is a thermodynamic system, meaning the energy must fluctuate or else it would blow itself out if it dropped even 1 degree in temperature. So it must survive to exist like everything in the universe. It bursts into energy and rests just as we sleep every night.
Every possible data series warns that we are heading back into a cooling — not warming — period. This is a normal 300-year cycle. I bought a hybrid car, not because I think it has anything to do with global warming, but simply because it is an advancement in technology that is a cleaner alternative.
I lived in London when the buses were diesel. It was horrible in August. Now that the buses are hybrids, the air is free to breathe again. That should be our concern. We do not need conspiracy theories of changing the climate. We are a pimple on a fly’s ass when it comes to that. We cannot even create a perpetual recession-free economy, and politicians want to tax us so they can manage the climate? Come on. I would not trust these people to even direct traffic as they do in Rome.
I follow our own models. We are moving to the Tampa region in Florida. We have had the three best summers in a row in New Jersey. Perfect weather. At most, one or two days were really hot. Europe is experiencing colder summers as well. Sorry, but we have already begun a decline into a mini-Ice Age. So if you do not believe me, you better buy an extra shovel and some boots.

There is now growing concern among scientists that we may indeed be heading into global cooling rather than warming. The concerns center on the apparent weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. This seems to be triggering a growing amount of speculation about abrupt cooling. What does that mean?
Here you can see a map of major world cities. You will notice that the bulk of Europe is north of New York City. The warm Atlantic current keeps Europe from freezing, but that is starting to change. The summers are already getting colder. This is the natural cyclical change. If these people bothered to use data well before the 19th century, they might discover something entirely natural. But doing so would defeat their preferred theory that this has been caused exclusively by mankind. That does not explain previous Ice Ages or how the climate became warm again all by itself.

Sorry if you believe in the political propaganda to raise taxes. This is a natural cycle and it will take place far more rapidly than people ever assumed. Napoleon had to retreat from Moscow because of the winter. George Washington lost countless men to the cold winter during the American Revolution at Valley Forge. Well sorry, it’s back!
This is not my personal opinion. I liked global warming. But it is time to move south before it is too late. I do follow our own computer. I have learned it is far better than I could ever be.

I'm not sure if you are serious or taking me for a ride, but that was an interesting read, and I will take note of that. We will see what happens soon enough...

:-(

It's all about short term profit. Even Trump has grandchildren. They need a world to live in

yeah, it's true

I am against pollution But it doesn't take much research at all to disprove Carbon dioxide from man as the cause of global warming. In fact just a little research at the wiki leaks sight will show you that scientist heading these studies were fraudulent

There is solid evidence that global warming is man made. We have evidence from ground samples that the Earth started to heat up after the Industrial Revolution. It doesn't have to be carbon dioxide, but any greenhouse gas. Wiki leaks are not at all a good source, and are not reliable. We have solid evididence, and you are not gonna change my mind on this.

I have read the science and come up with the opposite. And scientist rigging data makes the data meaningless in my book. I would point you to the suspicious observers website but you already admit it is a religion not a science you follow. So since there is no convincing you I will not waste my words any further. We agree to disagree on green house gasses and Agree on pollution

tbh that was completely besides the point of this article, I find it strange that so many people brought it up, as that was not the message I was trying to convey.

That is the evidence in question actually they were caught cooking the numbers. Also plenty of evidence of prehistoric warming here is a pretty good link.

You see that's your problem, you feel strongly about it. I used to do that. Then, I decided to stop feeling about it, and for the last six years I have spent an inordinate amount of time, every day, studying this subject, and I learned that my fears that humans are causing climate change were completely unfounded. Do not mistake me. We have a staggering amount of pollution problems, that we do need to solve, urgently. We will not solve any of them if we are stuck believing this fantasy that we have been sold. CO2 is not the danger we have been told. I used to believe in human caused global warming. Six years worth of research taught me differently. I am not going to convince you. The only thing I can do, is say, try to disprove your own beliefs. Go beyond the beliefs and feelings that have been manipulated by using our emotions against us. Knowledge is power, not feelings. If you are interested in informing yourself about this subject, I can provide you with places to start.

Sure, I am interested.

There were many things that allowed me to see that what is happening has very little to do with the poisoning of our local environment in which we are indeed engaged.

There is the increase in earthquake and volcanic activity. Undersea volcanoes are a major driver of ocean temperatures.

The Earth's magnetic field is weakening, and has been for hundreds of years. The Earth's poles are shifting, now.

Then there is the sun. The sun's umbral field is weakening. Solar flare activity is abysmally low. The solar cycle appears to be undergoing a periodic shut down. The many different energetic interactions of the Sun and Earth provide so much energy to the Earth system as to dwarf the greenhouse effect of 400 ppm CO2 and only radiant heat from the Sun.

Mars has shown a distinct increase in seismic activity. On Saturn it can be seen in the variation in periodic, usually predictable storms. Also, Venus and Saturn are changing their rate of spin. Jupiter has gained a new red spot and lost an entire planetary band.

All of this is easily verifiable. Please, do look into any or all of this yourself. I would not have believed any of this 10 years ago.

As far as I can tell the Sun is what is driving the majority of this, with the added effects of energies from outside the solar system that come into play as the Sun's output decreases. Including the known effect of increased cosmic radiation induction of increased cloud cover on Earth created as the solar wind slackens.

Here is a brief beginning. The data goes far beyond this. Please look into any of the names he gives, and let your research branch out from there. If you have any specific questions, I will do my best to help, but i find the best method for convincing is to let people do it on their own. The information is all out there. I would avoid PR and be wary of documentaries. I would question their funding and their sources for data. I would highly recommend learning the Trivium and Quadrivium to learn how to parse data. Learn to trust yourself, and not the "experts".

Delicate atmosphere? I just don't get that statement.
