President Oprah in 2020??

Wow! What is going on this week? I can't believe how many people, from pundits to reporters to people with opinions, are going crazy over the possibility of Oprah running for president in 2020. (In case you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the link to the full speech on YouTube

)

But, let me save you some time. The part that seems to steer this conversation is when she speaks of better days ahead. Put that into the context of her acceptance of the Cecile B DeMile award and being the first black woman to receive it and you have a "perfect storm" if you will. Is she alluding that she will run? Does she have her eyes on the White House?

If you follow US politics, whether it be attentively or just in passing to stay informed, you'll know of the recent upsets in several elections. Seems that many citizens have been going to the polls and voting Democrat. Maybe it's a backlash for what's been going on in Washington of late or maybe it's because so many are sick of the status quo and are looking for change. All I can say for sure from what I've observed is that the times, they are a changing. More and more people are fighting back for what they believe is right, from women (and some men) outing people in power for sexual assault to others not standing for a man who stood accused by many women for inappropriate behaviour towards minors (ie: Roy Moore). And that is what I felt was being echoed in Oprah's acceptance speech at the Golden Globes. A lot of people out there are attributing the recent Democratic win in Alabama to black women voters who seem to have worked hard to get the vote out. They did not want to have someone who was apparently banned from the mall in his town due to his behaviour towards young girls as their Senator.

So many people would love to see Oprah on the Democratic ticket take on the Republican nominee (I say possibly Trump as he was recently quoted as being on the fence for seeking reelection) in 2020. At the end of the day, she didn't outright say so. It doesn't mean it's off the table, but instead of getting all riled up about this, I do think more focus needs to be on the upcoming mid-terms and how they could possibly change the political landscape on the Hill.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, anyone is better than Donald, even Dwayne Johnson xD!!

Hahaha!! Winfrey/Johnson 2020?? :-)

I don't know. I read that he want to. Oprah will consider it and in my opinion will depend people will. I hope that she will run. Donald it's only destroying all what America build...

NOPRAH. She is the deep state choice obviously. But we beat Hillary, we can beat Oprah.
