Since the President's election, I was 99% certain that someone was going to pull some sort of violent stunt with how much chaos Trump's presidency created. And lo and behold, something happened. Something that's likely going to be pinned to the Extreme Left.
Shots fired near the White House's north lawn, and it is confirmed that the man committed suicide and is declared dead. Reasons unknown and so far there haven't been political ties. The man has not been identified yet. (I want to make clear that I'm not trying to undermine the impact that this made to his family and that suicide is a real problem.)
Meanwhile, President Trump is in Mar-a-Lago tweeting away about EU and US tariffs, trade deficits, and mocking the MSM again. The Left is going to get some more material from this, as President Trump already showed that he is not like previous presidents.
Possible theories to arise from this situation (so far)
- Fake News: Given that goes for any incident, I wouldn't be surprised to see it applied here.
- Proof for more gun control: The democratic side often takes the gun-restraint side of the debate. What happened here could be used as evidence for why guns need to be more limited.
- Accusations against the man: From the Far-Right, there would be some name-calling that the man chose that location on purpose because he was from the Far-Left. Or accusations he was a terrorist. Given the situation though, it'll be difficult to talk about this in particular without risking as coming off as insensitive.
