How would you solve this problem?

--Between the mass shooting in Las Vegas on October 21st and the mass shooting in Texas on November 5th, 4,319 people were shot in the United States and 1,385 of those people were killed

So glad I live in the UK where shootings are incredibly rare. It would be great if America could reduce the number of guns that people can get there hands on but sadly it's too late I think

I firmly believe American will be the last country on the planet where individuals will be empowered to commit summary executions "because I was afraid" (and that applies to cops too).

Hi @davidpakman, I live in Australia where the gun control laws are probably not that much more strict but where the incidences of violence due to alcohol and drug abuse is probably higher (proportional to the population) compared to the US. I see financial inequality and falling standards in education as the common bottleneck to a long term solution to solving any social issues, but funding in education and research continue to fall by the wayside so I think both countries are just paying the price for this.

the gun control laws are probably not that much more strict

Surely Australian gun control laws are way more strict than those in the US. Some states here have hardly any laws or restrictions at all.

I agree that Australian gun control laws more strict, but having strict gun control laws while substantially more die from drug and alcohol abuse seems to suggest that the priorities need to be reassessed. Australia also just spent who know how much money on a public survey about same sex marriage that will not actually result in any change to the law (that goes through another process). I guess it just goes to show that some countries find certain problems easier to solve than others. I am still waiting on what the Australian government will do about the humanitarian rights of asylum seekers and its own history of ill-treatment of the indigenous population...

With a new president

I only have one question for you pal. Where was Obama and Clinton when the other mass shooting were going down? Did they do anything. You know the answer, zero.

Because it was impossible to do anything without Republican support. They mass vote against any gun control

Happy to be in Canada with lowish gun ownership and corresponding low gun deaths, go figure. Not being high and mighty with this observation, in fact we think we have a gun problem here. If that perception is so then what of the US with >50X the deaths? Bring down the gun numbers, and come on, get rational you second amendment defenders, this was written in a very different time long before automatic weapons were even imagined. The authors would likely be horrified to see what they brought about with this amendment.

i like this post ..

I think it is funny gun.

A comprehensive solution is the only means. Background checks, banning assault rifles and modifications (e.g. bump stocks), preventing those who commit felony assault (especially domestic) from owning, and the laws must be at the federal level.

Limit gun purchases to a blockchain where value is created by diminishing white male masculinity? 🙏🏻 For that joke to be legible, here on this odd platform the way it (hopefully) is —lordy, what a weird world.

The Republicans have an answer...

Nice and good job dear

Texas has had about four mass shootings in the last 25 years. The state gun laws along with funding for mental health problems seem to be pretty much non existent.
