The press is the only profession actually named in the Constitution.
Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black gave the reason for Freedom of the Press in the 1st amendment was that: “The press was to serve the governed, not the governors. The Government's power to censor the press was abolished so that the press would remain forever free to censure the Government. The press was protected so that it could bare the secrets of government and inform the people.”
But when the press becomes an arm of a political party – it is essentially a propaganda machine and has abandoned it’s sacred oath to the American people, to educate them on the facts, so that they can make informed decisions…
