I'm from Venezuela, I live in Miami. All my family is still in Venezuela, including mom, dad and brothers. The problem is not only the government, but the opposition as well. Wasted opportunities over and over again and people got tired of being lied to from both sides. You may be right about the pacific path to independence, but speaking from my family's perspective, after La toma de Caracas (which they had to travel since the weekend just to be sure they wouldn't miss it) they lost all confidence in opposition leaders, after being told that they had shown that they could fill all the major streets in Caracas ( WE ALREADY KNEW THIS BEFOREHAND) and it was time to go home with no answers from the government.

Yesterday, the government just gave another slap in the face to all Venezuelans and the constitution by setting election dates for 2017. And what? No reaction... we'll have to comply to whatever they come up with.

THANK YOU for sharing this, I think the world is still not aware of how bad the situation is.
