Foreign aid, not always a good thing

What are your thoughts on this? While I fully endorse that every country or culture is different and it is not within our right to tell them what to do. I don’t agree that we should be funding them with tax payer money. It’s hard for me to logically see why. People argue for this practice for various reasons be it political, military advantage or some other. Pakistan for instance a big reason to send foreign aid is to assist in counter terrorism. While this sounds good in theory the truth is we never often know what happens with this money. This is the norm whenever it comes to supplying money to countries like this.

Child soldiers

For years people have criticized the US Government for providing aid to countries which are known to employee children soldiers.

Keep in mind aside from being children these kids aren’t usually volunteers. Most of the time they are children forcibly drafted to be trained in fighting and killing.

I fully support the idea of free trade with any and all countries. Even places such as North Korea since this can only be good for our economy along with I don’t feel the government should tell people what to do and not do. But I don’t like the idea of tax payer funding being used to fund other countries with questionable practices. Things like are further points on why the US needs to be less involved with managing the rest of the world or giving out foreign aid. Ideally I think most of the foreign aid should be cut off since money from the American people shouldn’t be used to win favor or punish countries which anger the current administration.
