Report from the Shallows. #12

in politics •  7 years ago

Today's report exposes those at the top that need it sooooo much more than those of us down here at the bottom.

In the last 12 hours:

Dust accounts got 6.72% of the reward pool.

Newbies got 7.05%.

Users got 18.32%.

Superusers, that's me, got 31.83%.

Heroes (who names these people?) got 26.45%.

Super Hero and Legends(???) got 8.47%.

Source

Now that tells me why they keep down the superstars, the distribution is evening out, and nobody likes losing control.

The largest ten voters gave 26.29% of the reward pool to their favorite authors.

I don't really see how to improve this absent a voluntary 50mv limit.

Were those above 80mv to stop voting everybody else's mv have more weight.

If only one vote is cast, the whole reward pool goes to that vote.

When whales vote, everybody else's vote has value taken away.

When whales delegate their stake it goes to those few that are willing to pay to play.

This is why rewards are so low.

It's just a fact in the math.

Now, that works vice versa, as well.

So get out there and vote on only posts with less than a few dollars!

2 voters gave 11.04% of the reward pool their favorites (source), they are 'just voting their sp'.

I don't think that they realize what they are costing us in adoption.

Why should ~46,000 active accounts (source) participate when only 2 of them control 11% of the reward pool?

What kind of game is that?

Even if it went to 'good' content, which, imo, it did.

Is it sustainable,...?

I guess we will find out.

Have a perfectly peaceful day.

Great post! I totaly agree with you! Looks like it always ends up the same way. Rich gets richer.
Resteemed and Upvoted!

And the poor often help the rich to increase their wealth... @milano1113

Thank you.

I prefer to vote for posts that with a few dollars... Why should we increase wealth of those who are already very rich?

Are comments worth more than votes or less? I'm only voting on people who follow me like you is this best practice though I don't know I'm such a newb.

Comments and posts are the same on the blockchain.
A vote is a vote on either.
I think we are supposed to vote on 'good' content, but i tend to support authors.
You got to decide for you.
Any ganging up disadvantages those not in the gang.
Vote selling/buying is raping the reward pool.

It is much easier to be somebody here when you are.
Just get out and comment folks and the votes will come.

Thank you I'm just talking as my belly guides me & hoping for the best. I wish everybody success.

Vote selling/buying distorts true merit of content on steemit... The richest can buy a lot of votes here and in the "democratic elections".

Hi @freebornangel ! Today I converted my 0,8 Steem dollars into Steem and increased my Steem Power. Now my Steem Power is 1.844 STEEM ... I cannot buy Steem for real currency because I have little personal income... Can you give me some Steem, please? I would like to earn something on curation rewards... Also with my voting I would like to help people who does not receive big rewards for their articles on Steemit... I would appreciate your help in any amount of Steem

You got to get out and comment on folks, there are no shortcuts to success here.

Hardly surprising considering how many "an"caps are on this site. They love having the rich trickle down all over them.

Too bad they only give it to the sell outs.

Your article was very interesting. I am also expressing my opinion. Thank you for sharing it with us.

The founders of Steemit said that they created the platform on the principles of Austrian economics, but what they really meant was that it's neoclassical crony capitalism. The system facilitates inequality growth.

The problem with von mises is that one of the first things he says is that his ultimate goal is money to live on without working.
That is what parasites do.
Ancraps are ignorant, or malicious to the goals, of anarchism
When iwas ancrap i was ignorant, now i have done the reading because self learnin' wasnt working too gud.
How can you learn a concept if it is intentionally kept from you?
If they continue down the path they will know the error of their way, imo, i did.
Might take awhile.
