Today, for the first time, I have felt even a bit of regret for voting for Bernie Sanders. When he said reproductive rights are a "distraction" I was pissed, but put it down to heat of the battle and all.
However, today Bernie announced that there is no-one better to lead the Senate Minority than Sen Chuck Schumer (D-NY). This, despite the fact that there was talk of Bernie himself getting the job.Seriously, Bernie? You simply *had* to primary Clinton because she's too close to Wall Street, but will gladly roll over for Chuck Schumer, who is EVERY MOTHERFUCKING BIT AS BAD IN THAT REGARD? Really?
So OK, the Dems aren't really gonna let an independent be Minority Leader. Fair enough. Chuck Schumer is the best of the rest? How so?
The only reason Hillary Clinton got more Wall Street donations than Chuck is she was the bigger star. There is no daylight between them when it comes to that. The only difference is their genitals. And if that's the case, and the whole Wall Street thing isn't that crucial when it comes to a leadership position, maybe an old white man really shouldn't have stood in the way of the first major party female candidate in history. Either that shit matters - and then it should damn sure matter who leads us in the Senate - or it doesn't.
