Calibri Font - Nawaz Sharif

Believe it or not, a government corruption case seems to have come down to a popular Microsoft font.

Pakistan's Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, is accused of illegally profiting from his position since the 1990s. He is under investigation for corruption charges. His daughter and political heir apparent, Maryam Nawaz, has produced documents from 2006 that prove her father’s innocence.

The problem is that the said documents use the Calibri font which became available as the default font of Microsoft products only in 2007. So, typography experts believe that the documents could not have been written in 2006.

@ghaesemkiani I'm from India I know what type of that prime ministers are they always pumping to terrorist in Pakistan.

Thank you for reading and your feedback. I am not so much knowledgeable about politics in Pakistan and India, so I would like to refrain from taking sides. What was interesting for me here was the fact that a font has become an important evidence in a political investigation.

It became default in 2007 but the font was around since 2004.

Full disclosure, I might have done some font bootlegging back in the eighties.

Thanks for your feedback. Okay, so the font was created in 2004. This could help the defendant's case. The point here is that the font is at the center of the investigation according to the media reports.

it was really interesting!!

they are robbers and now it has been proven by the JIT
