I know there are a lot of people out there that really don't like Trump and since he won in 2016 a number of terms have arisen. TDS was one of them and this stands for Trump Derangement Syndrome.
TDS can be defined as " criticism of, or negative reactions to United States President Donald Trump that are alleged to be irrational and have little regard towards Trump's actual positions or actions taken."
I am pretty indifferent to who is the President of the United States as every single one of them preaches "change this, change that, promise this, promise that" and nothing really ever changes - at least it hasn't in my lifetime. I did not vote for Trump. I have thrown my vote away on candidates I actually believe in rather than playing the "this person is the least bad of the mainstream candidates so i will vote for them" game.
This isn't about me though. This is about a test that Prager U did on California campus that asked random strangers to rank famous people throughout history in terms of "best" to "worst."

They had a list of well-known people throughout history and the people were as follows: Abraham Lincoln, Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, Donald Trump, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Jesus. The pictures did not have names on them, they were merely images. The students were then asked to arrange these pictures from in order of how good or bad they think the person in the picture is.
Now, when you go to a University, especially a University in California, it should come as zero surprise that Trump isn't going to be very popular but there were a few things that i found very shocking.
- The very first group ranked Obama as the "best" and Trump as the worst... when asked why they ranked Obama as the best, the student responded "because he is black." I am sure MLK would be extremely proud.
- Many of the students didn't recognize Stalin's face and even once they were told his name, they had no idea who that was. How the hell do you get into college while never having heard of Joseph Stalin?
- One student didn't recognize Hitler
- When a second group ranked Trump as "worse than Hitler or Stalin" the presenter asked something along the lines of "What is it that Trump has done that is worse than the systematic execution of 6 million Jews?" Their response: We haven't yet seen the damage that Trump has done but it will be worse....
You can see the five minute video here:
from the official Prager U channel
Now I understand that politics are really important (to some people) to argue about, especially now. I also have a great many friends that really really hate Donald Trump - this is understood - you only have to look at FB for a little while to figure that out. What I feel personally is irrelevant and is not the point of writing this. My point is that i find it to be intellectually dishonest with perhaps a bit of institutional brainwashing mixed in for people to fully believe that a current president that they are unhappy with could possibly be ranked worse than two of the greatest ethnic cleansers of all time.
What is going on here? I know that Prager U could have edited the video to intentionally look for the dumbest people they could find as this is a common tactic used by both the left and the right when trying to identify "idiots" with different political ideals. It is also no secret that Prager U is a very conservative leaning group.

There are other videos out there where the reporter goes to liberal rallies (or the exact opposite) and then reads them a quote by Trump but tells them that it was said by Barack Obama and the people almost always say they "think it is a good idea." When he later tells them that it was actually a Trump quote the look on these people's faces is just priceless.
There you have it in a shell: I think that groupthink and identity-politics have taken over and no one really even thinks about what is being said to them before they make a choice. The "Orange Man Bad "or on the flip side the "God Emperor Trump" people can't really be trusted to make an informed decision, can they? Well their vote counts just as much as mine does!
I get it; a lot of people really don't like Trump the same as whoever lost the past election really didn't like whoever won that one. It will be that way in 2020 and 2024 etc Ad infinitum. I just found it to be a bit shocking that college students can have such a high level of hatred for this man that they believe they are justified in stating that he is worse than what most people agree are some of the most profoundly villainous individuals of the past 100 years.

For me, anytime that someone disagrees with everything or agrees with everything a particular politician does I immediately suspect them of not actually thinking for themselves. It is possible you know, to actually believe some decisions are good ones while others are not... i suppose this is a benefit (for me) of having not bought into the whole 2-party system that dominates US politics. The party I tend to vote for never wins and to be honest I don't think they ever will.
What do you think? Do you think that it is justified to suggest that Trump is the worst on this list? I'm not gonna argue with you, but i would love to see how anyone can justify this line of thinking because the students in the video certainly didn't do a very good job of it.
It is indeed DERANGEMENT. They are so mad, yet they do not have a solid reason besides slander to knock him. They call him racist then make fun of his skin tone... they have perverted the idea of being nationalist into to some weird white power thing... i dont love the guy, but I be voting for him this next cycle just to oppose the craziness and keep the solid growth he has established for domestic companies and bringing jobs BACK to America.

At 1st appearance, the liberal indoctrination of college students (especially in California) is alarming. But then I remember that the majority won't be able to get a job that affords enough to even make payments on their student loans. The shocking and disappointing reality of the liberal agenda doesn't take long to manifest after graduation.

That is insane. It's no surprise they are students, I'm sure their teachers aren't helping to correct them.

Love the part where he said " Trump is Hitler and we need to give our guns to Hitler, that's their logic"😂

Yeah, I think that is a bit of a stretch to say he is worse than some of the other people on there. Yeah he makes some bad decisions and some horrible comments but as of yet he hasn't done anything on the level of what should be the top two. Unless we can destroy the party lines and get rid of corporate lobbying, we are never going to see any change. That is just the way it is. We just need one really strong third party candidate to make a breakthrough.

I thought the libertarians had a great chance in 2016 but Gary Johnson was just awful. Or perhaps we were made to think that... I dunno

I think America has a policy that will be followed by every president in office. Even if it fixes or revises, it never makes any drastic changes. This makes anyone who becomes president will have a policy that is not much different. both the democrats and their republics have the same blueprint. which distinguishes the leadership style of each ruling president. We once hoped that when Obama changed the direction of policy, he could not deny what his predecessors had taken. So he only made repairs or at least softer.
But if you make a decision by saying Trump is the worst, that's because you see the bad side. if I do, I agree because the comparison is someone we know better

Rest assured. In 20 or 30 years all those students would speak about Trump years with nostalgia and describe current President as a great wise statesman and misunderstood visionary, so different from the monster currently at White House. If you have some doubts, look how Dubya managed to get to that point in less than a decade.

huh, the dubya thing is a good example.. He was under constant attack also but certainly not to the degree that Trump is. However, i think part of the reason why they like him so much is the fact that he turned on Trump but i suppose he had to because of the way that the Don was treating Jeb.

Students are incredibly sheltered and impressionable. They can easily be convinced if something sounds even remotely reasonable. There is no mystery to the indoctrination of progressiveism on college campuses.
I'm not surprised by this outcome, but since they aren't part of what is the working class world or have levels of responsibility in the real world yet its easy for them to follow the lines their professors lead them on.

This is very sad especially because Reagan came from California. Leftism has destroyed that state.
