I'm not going to warn you that war is coming to more people than ever before in history and it's going to bring humanity back down to levels of brutality never seen in generations. I'm not going to warn you about it because it is too late for warnings, in my opinion the war has been going for a while now and we live it everyday. This is what it feels like to live through a world war and we are just getting started. The anxiety is there, I'm just pointing it out in order to start processing it and take the stress out wherever possible.
To be clear I am not for this war, there is hardly any justification for any war but with Syria in particular I think the whole thing stinks of lies and nonsense. There lays the frustration on being anti-war, the powerless feeling that comes with this stance, war is here and there doesn't seem to be a damn thing any of us can do to avoid a fight. Now I believe the only choice we have is to roll over and accept our fate when the masters come calling or to pick who we are going to stand up against and what fight we are going to participate in.
If we chose to fight then things get complicated and in a very big way. Who do we fight and how? Well Trump is and easy target, it's really his job to take the blame for most of it, we hired to do so, but will that help? Protesting the president can certainly help end wars as it has in recent memory but I can't recall any stopping one from beginning, maybe if I heard some examples I would say that's an option but right now I think it won't help much. Protesting the military would help, if no one showed up to fight in that way war as we know it would end all together but, someone always does show up, always.... We can move away from it and find a place where war has not touched the land, but that is a temporary solution, war spreads like pestilence, and not a very achievable anyhow.
What options does that leave us with? My personal solution seems very middle of the road on all the ideas I've named and therefor lacks direction. I plan on protesting where I can, moving away from the seacoast and waiting for the fight to roll my way hopefully many years later than now. In the mean time I do plan on staying fit physically and mentally sharp so my family isn't caught off guard by a nasty surprise. I'm under no illusion that prepping can fend off the red dawn scenario but I can't help but try and be ready in some way. After all we may lose.........
I would love to hear what you guys think there are for options. As I said I have the feeling of being rudderless in a storm so to speak and would like some of the comfort choices bring. Please be sure to let everyone contribute without fear of down votes, this is an important issue for all of us and any thoughts would be helpful.

This period reminds me of the days when we were rmping up for the invasion of Iraq, watching the news on TV and screaming no no no and being powerless to stop it. Ware IS a terrible thing, and most Americans don't realize HOW terrible it actually is, because it has not affected them on their own soil. WWI and WWII are still very alive in the memory of most European families, near-starvation, entire villages destroyed, an entire generation of men killed, missing, or maimed physically and psychologically, sirens blaring, bombs falling, children seeing corpses in the street, and fear all around.
I think this lack of poignant personal memory (collective as well as family memory) contributed to many Americans supporting the invasion of Iraq. They truly don't know and I don't wish on them the experience of war and carnage (and no, 9/11 is not comparable). Up to a point we have also been sensitized to violence through repetitive images on TV and military video games.
Because we are a species so susceptible to propaganda, it is easy to manipulate us, mostly through the "news" on TV. Most of the battle now is psychological, and ironically now we have pretty much the same access to information gathering and dissemination as the government. Just look at what is happening on Steemit, we talk, we brainstorm, we are solidary of one another. We know for a fact that we are not alone in our opposition to war. We are a virtual network or resistance even if our immediate physical environment doesn't support us. While we still have access to the internet, we can call for mass peaceful demonstrations, we can create an organization to assist members of the military who will defect and possibly be prosecuted for treason, we need to work on an internet network that cannot be shut down by the government, we can debunk through facts and data the idea that going to war is a patriotic act, we can support financially alternative media.
As far as Trump is concerned, the guy is neither intelligent nor educated. His MO to success has historically been swindling, bribery, lying and bullying and being in the White House will not change that. He can do damage with his twitter fingers, but his position is not one of power. Ironically while he is president, he is so gross and absurd that he might be our saving grace because no-one takes him seriously and he has fast contributed to the US losing its clout, which is precisely what is needed to not go to war. The guy makes me puke, but Pence at the helm would be disastrous because he would lend an air of respectability to the role and to the country. So taking Trump down would be ill-advised because his ego has so much to prove that he might actually not go to war if he thinks that might make him look good. He has no master but himself and his megalomaniac fantasies, and that can be exploited.
Before we think of "rolling over and and accept our fate when the masters come calling", we need to continue the resistance and increase our web or interconnectedness. And yes, fate may prevail because there are forces that are greater than us little mortals, but we don't have to take it lying down.

That is one fantastic response thank you. It feels like your a proponent for protesting the war itself and standing up to the government through peaceful means, those are great ways to go about it and that was exactly what I was asking for. Am I correct? It is a respectable position and adds to the conversation for sure.
