According to an early poll released Sunday, Kid Rock's potential Senate run in Michigan seems to be finding support.

The poll, conducted by Delphi Analytical, places the rocker ahead of incumbent Senator Debbie Stabenow, (D-Mich.)

Of the 668 participants polled, Rock received 30 percent of the vote and Stabenow received 26 percent of the vote, placing the entertainer four points ahead in a hypothetical general election mashup. Almost half of the poll's respondents remained undecided, and, among those who selected a preference, Rock led 54-46 percent.

The Michigan-born rocker, whose music career spanned three decades, announced earlier last week that he was putting his hat into the ring for the U.S. Senate in Michigan in 2018.

As a Senate hopeful, the 46-year-old musician has already outlined his goals for health care and tax reform, in addition to his pro-second amendment stance on gun ownership.

According to Fox News, Republicans in Michigan, a traditionally blue state, are hopeful the musician will run on the GOP ticket to better the party's chances at claiming the Senate seat from Stabenow in the coming election.

Prior to Rock's announcement, Michigan GOP press officer Sarah Anderson told the outlet that she was unaware if Rock would run for senate, but admitted she thought it "would be awesome" if he did.
