Job Interview; Republican Party Rant

in politics •  7 years ago

Enjoy this song I am jamming to while I write this post. :)

I finished a job interview for a company I think I would be a good fit for. The interview didn't go as stellar as my typical interviews, but I feel good about it. If anything, it was a genuine interview. I didn't embellish my accomplishments, I didn't BS my capabilities, I didn't try to oversell myself. I wanted to make sure that I was realistic with myself. I did, however, make sure not to undersell myself as well.

I think there was only one possible question that may have damaged my prospects: I asked about Republican values. The opportunity would be able to promote Republican values and I wanted clarification on it. Republican values seem to have shifted since the Bush days. Rather than a promotion of strong statehood, decentralization, and fiscal responsibility, the Tea Party dragged the values towards overstepping these values for political capital.

Bush started a strong sense of nationalism within the Republican base which allowed the Tea Party to encourage centralization. Rather than encouraging states to be progressive with their policies, the Republican party chooses to emphasize radical theories that depict Democrats as tyrannical as their political capital grows within a populous base. This ironically shifts towards centralism and tyranny as followers would rather follow fear mongering Breitbart and consume Sinclair infested Fox News than turn to moderate views.

This is exemplified with moderates like Morning Joe giving up on the Republican Party and Lincoln Chafe turning to Democrats. Republicans are listening to mob rule rather than protecting the nation from it. This causes the split from true Republican values and staunch members to either switch or goes independent. This is where doofus candidates gain serious traction. This is why we are living under a new Cold War with a leader that ignores generals, advisors, and Congress in aims to promote the Avante Garde Trump brand.

The interviewee responded wonderfully explaining that most in the office are in the politically center. Their case studies also show no concerns for me, so I probably shouldn't have asked the question to begin with, but I look forward to hearing back from them.
