Youth for Efficient Leadership Initiative (YELI) aka Youth for Presidency Movement (YPM) condemn in strong terms, the Channels Television news report of the #YouthDecide 2019 Conference which held in Abuja on Saturday July 7th, 2018.

The popular decision of the youth at the conference is that it is possible and we are committed to taking over the presidency in 2019. All views against it were shouted down.

Unfortunately, Channels TV deliberately misrepresented the resolution of the conference to mean the Nigerian youths have decided that taking over power in 2019 is not possible. This erroneous report couldn't be further from the truth.

We have great respect for the objectivity of Channels TV and will want them to seek the resolutions from the conference organisers rather than making the opinion of a guest speaker the ultimate decision of #YouthDecide.
We are willing to correct the misrepresentation should Channels TV decide to be unbias and truly objective.

As active participant in the #YouthDecide 2019 conference and stakeholders in the youth take over Nigerian Presidency Project, we hereby declare the Channels Television news report of the #YouthDecide conference of Saturday, 7th July, 2018 as a gross misrepresentation.

This clearly shows that some elements are deliberately working to scuttle the youth effort of building a new Nigeria. Let it be known however, that no one can stop a fast moving train. Nigerian Youths are tired of the sufferings and have resolved to make 2019 a turning point in the annals of our country, as we are ready to change the narratives.

From 20th to 22nd July, 2018 youths are gathering in Abuja to work out a week-long strategy that will help wrest power in 2019.

We must all come together to salvage our dear nation from the shackles of bad governance and underdevelopment. We must stop the hunger, despair, frustrations, sufferings and hardships in the land. We have all it takes to be the best nation in the world.

Let's work together to make it happen.

Signed

Amb Akhigbe Olumhense,
National Coordinator,
Youth for Efficient Leadership (YELI) aka ( Youth for Presidency Movement (YPM)
