PROOF: The New York Times Is Now A Big Oil Propaganda Rag

in politics •  7 years ago

The New York Times has long been a pro-war pro-Wall Street outlet. However, it seems they've slipped even further into a propaganda shill for big oil. If this is the so-called "Liberal Media," then what the hell is considered "Right Wing"?? Anyway, here's my breakdown of their recent cover article which reads like an infomercial for ExxonMobil.
Keep Fighting,
Lee

#NoamChomsky told us @nytimes and #MSM were #FakeNews 25 years ago. The corporate press always serves at the pleasure of the establishment. #manufacturingconsent

You're kinda like George Carlin, only you're Lee Camp. Enjoyed it.

do you have something against gasoline?
do you own a car, use anything made from plastic,
use any type of medicine.
eat food grown by using machines and fertilizer?

All of these can be made without the use of fossil fuel. But the infrastructure will need to be changed first.

Exactly,thank you.

not easily or economically

and who's going to pay?

I don’t think oil has been easy or economic. The wars , death, environmental degradation are all externalized costs. The future for all of those things are plant based and electric. I think that is an excepted reality. The relavant question is how do we get there, and when? Each individual can free themselves from the need for fossil fuel today, but it isn’t easy. Eventually it will be.

I agree..it is an excepted reality.
not accepted by everyone...or even the majority.

So there are folks besides the investors in oil, who don’t want or see a future where we won’t rely on fossil fuels to fuel our world? Auto makers are committing to bet on a 100% electric future, battery plants like Tesla’s are being developed around the world, there are a few battery technologies in dev that will completely revolutionize what’s capabable with electric power. I don’t see how the tide isn’t going in that direction. And I’m not sure how anyone couldn’t see this future as imminent, or why they wouldn’t want it.

yup...I'm totally confident that you think that.

Hmm. I think this is my first encounter with s troll on steemit. I was actually curious as to why one wouldn’t want this future. Or if there were actually some alternative facts I’m missing. Best wishes 🍻

You should make a show about the blockchain technology.Like how it will change the current monetary system,or any governments. For example: "can you imagine the US government 100% transparent,no more secrets?"

he did two episodes about blockchain technology recently...

Looks like I need to do my homework :-)

Energy is the primary source for everything else. So if energy production can be made cheaper, greener and more transparent it will help the whole humanity. That is the reason I am invested in powr and kWh coins.

While renewable energy might take time to replace the fossil fuels we should start putting up fossil fuels/petrol transactions on blockchain to bring transparency. A petrol backed currency replacing USD for petrol deals can be the first step.

In the mean time if projects like steemit and tipper economy can replace traditional media we will have more avenues for transparent media.

SolarCoin looks pretty cool... I also like Gridcoin, but I might be biased. ;)

Awesome rant. We're destroying the planet, but at least we'll have weapons. LOL. Maybe we need some climate change demotivational posters about Success and Teamwork with shots of a tar sands wasteland or a dying oil covered heron. "Rising oil prices give US an edge, which it is about to fall over and take all living things with it."
