This merger MUST be stopped. Yes prices will go down INITIALLY (then they'll go up significantly later), but the main initial reason it MUST NOT happen, is that this merger significantly affects small business, as there'll end up being less opportunities for differing versions of products, resulting in small business losses and job losses.
If the UK is interested in jobs, small business and consumers, it will NOT allow this merger.
Of course, the SelfServatives are only interested in singing CEOs.......
