The Next American Revolution Pt2 Building the Community

US_Capitol_west_side.jpgIn the last part I discussed the historical problems with Violent Revolution, the need for evolution in consciousness, and the need for voluntary solutions instead of government programs. So, how do we follow through with this.

First off I’d like to thank all the people that run, and attend events like Anarhapulco, and PorcFest. These gatherings are an amazing way to spread the ideas of freedom, along with connecting people and their ideas. This is of course part of the evolution step, to bring on a new age of thinking and reasoning. Unfortunately our mission requires more than just these events. I’d argue that as a community we should also focus on bringing our ideas out into the mainstream (not that many people aren't already with great success). There are so many people who haven't even heard of Libertarianism let alone Voluntarism and the value it's predicated on. To evolve the collective consciousness of our country and really the world we need to grow, and of course not be hostile to new “members”.porcfest-2013.jpg
If we look at the massive spread of any given ideology around the world there seems to be two main ways they reach new believer. Violence and conquer, or being a way better alternative to the already existing reality. Take for instance Christianity, now historically Christianity has spread through the domination of indigenous populations and forced conversion, one example is the Spanish colonization of the Aztecs where Aztec religion was outlawed and replaced by Catholicism. I think it’s evident that’s not the path were looking for, but there is another way Christianity has spread and that’s by being a “better” alternative to whatever existing reality a potential convert believes in. We need to show to the vast majority of the public that our reality is more effective and safe, healthy, and free than whatever given Ideology they subscribe to.

Along with bringing our ideas to as many people as possible, it is absolutely vital that we ourselves adhere to the values that we are promoting. If we are to accept the N.A.P. as our moral code than we must be true to our word. It would be counter productive for the Christian missionary to teach that adultery is a sin if he constantly cheats on his wife. Much in the same way as individuals we must make sure that we lead moral lives and become leaders in the sense of helping our communities through these moral principles.

When people see that libertarians, anarchists or whatever name you like to give yourselves living by the morals they preach and creating value both in their lives and the lives of others they’re gonna be more likely to at least look into what makes our ideas so damn great. So, as part of evolving the consciousness of our community and our world I say it’s important to get involved. Not just at PorcFest or by buying bitcoin, but also but taking a shift at a church soup kitchen, or even starting you own private community service organization. Don’t be afraid to be an upstanding member of your community, not necessarily through government but through private voluntary organization. Talk to people, help people, make friends, and show the world what the N.A.P. can recreate or world for the better.
