This morning, America was forced to endure perhaps the most self-important tweet in the history of the presidency from Trump, in which he perverted this day of remembrance to promote his own “accomplishments.”

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump
Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!

The president’s Memorial Day statement is not only glaringly tone-deaf – using “happy” to describe the solemn holiday as if it’s a birthday celebration – but shamefully self-serving.

Former President Barack Obama, per usual, struck a different tone. His message is sympathetic, articulate, and selfless— and come in stark contrast to the current occupant of the Oval Office.

@BarackObama
We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes. But we can remember them, honor their sacrifice, and affirm in our own lives those enduring ideals of justice, equality, and opportunity for which generations of Americans have given that last full measure of devotion.

I agree with the president. While it's sad we lost honorable soldiers, they fought so the rest of us could live happier more enjoyable lives. And we are. Instead of dragging Trump down why don't you admire him for trying to boost the morale of the country. There is already too much negativity crawling around this world. Why would you want to add to it. Instead try to be original by looking for the positives instead of only the negatives.

When everything is everything around you,you can't think positive.Although i removed the word "preverted" i hope that is something positive.

Yeah that's a good step forward positive thinking was difficult for me at first but once you master it the world is much easier to navigate. I should do a post on positive thinking.

And really he "perverted" this day. Get a dictionary and find an accurate word. Stop with the buzzwords so people like your posts.
